The trail is comprised of three sections through forests that are so dense that light barely penetrates. The first starts after the villages surrounding Chomrung and continues to New Bridge. Along the way to Sinuwa it is possible to will hear the Modi Khola flowing just next to you. But the trees surrounding have grown so thick that it is difficult to actually observe the river. The third section follows Bamboo and stretches all up to Dovan. The best part about this trek is that you trek through these forests not only once but twice!
The trek is located within the 7,629 square kilometers Annapurna conservation Area. The area is home to 1 226 species of flowers, 102 mammal species 4,74 reptiles, along with 22 amphibians. If you’re lucky, you may see an exotic bird or even the marmut.
A sign for Nepali culture
It is a classic Tea house trekking experience. The lodges are small that usually accommodate between 20 and 25 people. They are managed by locals. They also bring people from various areas of Nepal to work in the peak tourist season. Interacting with staff members at tea homes, guides and porters along the trails will provide you with an insight into the culture of Nepal. A majority of them are fluent in English therefore communication shouldn’t be an issue. The food served in tea houses is cooked in the Nepalese way. Ghandruk is the largest village in the region. When you start the hike you will pass through numerous small villages, all is home to less than 100 inhabitants. The fiveth day the trail climbs to over 4000 feet in elevation over 10 kilometers. This is something that you should consider when planning to hike.

The trek from Annapurna Base Camp runs 67km long. The trek can be completed in just 9 days from Pokhara. But, it’s better to reserve a day to accommodate for unfavorable weather.
