On the 11th day of our prescheduled Itinerary, we start most awaited Island peak climbing in very early morning at around 1 AM. Then leaving the base camp we will ascent up a boulder strewn trail to rocky ridge and further climbing takes is to the glacier. Here, we use fixed ropes to cross glacier and reach snow field. Then climbing and sliding using the fixed rope we will reach the summit.
Once you reach the summit, you will feel like you have conquered the world. Everything from here appears smaller. Moreover, you will get awe-inspiring views of Lhotse (8,501m), Lhotse Central (8,410m) and Lhotse Shar (8,383m), Everest (8,848m), Baruntse, Makalu and numerous other snow-clad peaks.
Summiting the peak is truly a great achievement but returning back safely is equally significant. Most of the accidents occurs while descending from the summit as the climbers are tired after summiting and are in rush to get down. So, we recommend you not to rush and strictly follow the commands of your team leader.

As we still have a lot more altitude to gain, it is best to take a day off right now to help our bodies acclimatize. Namche is a modern settlement equipped to host thousands of trekkers and travelers. You can visit its Internet cafes, restaurants and bakeries if you are spending the day here.
